Have a Cup of Tea

As I have had the privilege to sit with many people from all walks of life over the years, my understanding of suffering has evolved. Suffering is often seen as something that needs to be relieved externally, so we look to outside sources for our healing rather than going within. Just as our bodies are made of fine engineering, our beings have the capacity for self-healing and rejuvenation. The idea that we are wonderfully made and equipped to free ourselves from emotional pain and agony comes into focus when we recognize the interconnectedness of all life forms on the planet.

With this awareness of our divine design, we can turn to nature for our wellness, acknowledging that nothing is new under the sun. This means that suffering can be relieved when we become still enough to notice, to listen to that faint voice inside asking for help—seeking relief from junk foods, inactivity, pessimism, isolation and loneliness, interpersonal conflicts, financial strain, overwhelm, etc.

Often, we suppress overwhelming emotions with things that ultimately harm our well-being simply because we have not yet learned how to practice self-love. But where are the healing plants? What do they offer? How can they help to soothe the nervous system and provide a sense of peace and serenity—which are healing balms in themselves?

Herbal teas are a gentle yet powerful way to reconnect with nature and nurture ourselves. They offer a simple self-care practice that brings calm, balance, and rejuvenation to the body, mind, and spirit. Below are several tea blends to support the well-being of men, women, and children.
