Beauty: A Divine Gift, Not a Destination

Beauty is a desirable attribute, that can seemingly open doors, ease suffering, and create opportunities. The idea is sold everywhere: If you are beautiful, your life will be better, your troubles will be fewer, and everything you desire will be handed to you. Beauty, in all its forms, undeniably has value. Yet, it also has limitations when it is not put into perspective.

The body is a vehicle, a shell of sorts, that houses consciousness or the true self. When beauty is overemphasized, it can overshadow the deeper aspects of our existence. What is beauty without the ability to connect with and care for others? What happens when beauty fades, and there is nothing else to offer when heads no longer turn and favors are no longer extended? What happens when the pursuit of external beauty keeps you from recognizing and appreciating all the other ways you are wonderful, beyond what society deems valuable?

Beauty is an interesting and powerful concept, one that has always been celebrated since the beginning of time. Across cultures, there are different standards, variations, and even extreme measures people take to access the privileges associated with beauty. Yet, the pursuit of beauty often leads to a sense of dissatisfaction, as the goalposts of what is considered beautiful are constantly shifting.

It is important to remember that beauty ultimately belongs to the divine. It is effortless, woven into the divine order of creation, and it exists in all things. Beauty is not something that can be confined to a narrow definition or standard. It is available to all, and its true essence cannot be captured by superficial means.

When we recognize that beauty comes from a higher source, we can appreciate it without becoming lost in it. True beauty is found in how we live, how we treat others, and how we cultivate our inner selves. The way we show kindness, extend love, and seek truth is far more alluring than any cosmetic on the market.

Beauty, in its purest form, is a reflection of our inner light and the love we share with the world. While it is natural to appreciate beauty, it is essential to recognize that it is not just a fleeting pursuit or superficial attribute. True beauty is effortless, like a jasmine or a tulip; it exists in harmony with the world around it, giving as much as it receives. It has the power to shift energy, inspire connection, and foster healing. When we appreciate beauty in this way, we see it not as an end in itself but as a catalyst for deeper, more meaningful experiences in life.
